Ryan Michael “Riley Jane” English

On January 26, 2025, transgender Ryan Michael “Riley Jane” English traveled from his home in Massachusetts to the nation’s capital with the intent of murdering leaders in the conservative movement. He turned himself in to Capitol Police before he could inflict any harm. According to court documents, English had the intention to kill “‘Nazi’ Secretary of Defense, Peter Hegseth, and/or the Speaker of the House, Mike Johnson, and/or burn down the Heritage Foundation” in order to “send a message.” English later turned his focus to Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent. “Originally, English’s thoughts were to use the small bottles of vodka to start fires and later to wrap them in rags soaked in alcohol, light them and throw them at Bessent’s feet,” a court affidavit stated, and that “in the event English was able to get close enough to Bessent, English would have stabbed him with the knife that English brought from home.”
